What is music therapy?
Music therapy is a health care profession. Kristina Gindo serves a variety of populations:

Children, adolescents and adults with physical disabilities
-
Children, adolescents and adults with cognitive disabilities
-
Children, adolescents and adults with mental illness
-
Adults with substance abuse disorders
-
Children, adolescents and adults with Autism
-
Seniors in a variety of settings
Music therapy is the use of music interventions by a Board-Certified professional who has completed an accredited program to achieve communication, social, physical, cognitive and emotional goals. Kristina targets non-musical goals through specialized music interventions.
What does it look like?
A lot of fun! Music therapy interventions are based on specialized training and critical problem solving on the therapist's part. Therapists use the elements of music to meet the moment-by-moment needs of the client. Needs are based on assessment. Goals are set and treatment begins.
